Before You Ride

Safety is of paramount concern during each of our events, but particularly during our group rides.

Each member is responsible for understanding their individual riding skills and abilities and is responsible for their participation in rides and other events.

If the group is riding too fast for your skills, please drop back and the group will wait for you at the next junction. HCC is not responsible for the actions of any member participating in such events.

Anyone planning on doing one of the rides must review our group riding and safety information under the 'Rider Safety' tab above.

Ride Captains

You will notice that on some of the rides below a ‘Ride Captain’ is listed. These individuals have volunteered to be the point of contact for that ride. So if you have any questions about the ride before or during, that is the individual you should contact. Among other things the ride captain will be responsible for knowing the ride route, conducting the pre-ride meeting, and in general be responsible for the overall ride. However, the ride captain WILL NOT be responsible for YOUR actions, it is still your responsibility for understanding your individual riding skills and abilities and be responsible for your participation in the ride. We also have the 2008 calendar available for download as either a comma-delimited text file or an Excel spreadsheet. You can use these files to import the ride calendar into Microsoft Outlook, your PDA, or many other calendars. These files contain the basic calendar information of Ride Title, From and To Dates, and the ride Summary.
